About the Book
A great nation dedicated to God
In her book, Maryann illustrates how the hand of God is woven throughout the fabric of all aspects of our society, history, holidays, traditions, art, music, movies, cities, constitution, laws, political leaders, and culture. On April 26, 1607, our founding fathers got on their knees, erected a cross at Cape Henry, and dedicated this land to God. It’s a well-known fact that Christmas sales carry the profit for most businesses, yet society is desperately trying to remove “Christ” from Christmas.
America was built on religious freedom, but Christianity is very much under attack like never before. America has many similarities to Israel and Jerusalem. They both had thirteen divisions (tribes/colonies), a north and south division, and many others. If you want to reap, you must first sow. Invest in your neighborhood, city and country. Do good to others. After you read her book, the author hopes you too will say, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).
A great nation dedicated to God
In 1983 our own United States House and Senate declared 1983 the “Year of the Bible” by a joint resolution stating:
“Renewing our knowledge of and faith in God through Holy Scripture can strengthen us as a nation and a people.”
What you do in private actually does affect how one governs. The amount of graft and corruption in Washington should indicate that. It used to be said that “All roads lead to Rome.” However, contrary to some popular opinions, all paths do not lead to God. Some lead to crimes against children, drug abuse, rebellion against parents, students bullying other students, and other forms of perversion when people are not moral people who abide by the governing laws God laid out in his inspired word, the bible. God has a few things to say about a country and its people living by these laws. Too many people think it’s the government’s job to take care of too many things: abortion, education, health care, lending policies, morality, retirement, the poor, small businesses, unemployment, etc., etc., etc. Here are a few verses from the bible which state a better and often free way to take care of many problems:
A NATION’S HONOR
2 Chronicles 7:14: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Romans 13:1-2: Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore he who resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.
Proverbs 14:34: Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.
Proverbs 29:2: When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.
Proverbs 17:6: Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of sons is their fathers.
Deuteronomy 19:13: Your eye shall not pity him, but you shall purge the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, so that it may be well with you.
“Truly riveting. There is so much truth in this book. Truth that most people have forgotten about.”
M. Wilson Jacksonville, Florida
“The book is easy to read and eye-opening in its own right. I enjoyed reading it.”
B. Rogers Naples, Florida
“The bible references are my favorite about this book. It’s one thing to be told what’s right or wrong, and it’s another to be shown proof that we, Americans, really have broken our promise to God.”
C. Sanders Fort Myers, Florida
